  • The Asus VivoBook S400CA is a reasonably priced 14-inch laptop with a touch screen, and a solid, mostly metal body
  • An uncomfortably mushy keyboard, a lower-resolution display, and unimpressive battery life make this laptop feel like a series of compromises
  • You get a decent 14-inch laptop package in the Asus VivoBook, especially given that it has a touch screen, but it doesn't add up to anything particularly impressive that you can't get elsewhere either with better design or for a lower price.

  • Affordable for a touch screen laptop, Speedy boot time, Lightweight and sleek aluminum design
  • Below-average battery life, Shallow keyboard
  • The ASUS VivoBook S400CA is a Windows 8 Ultrabook that offers a touch screen and a slim and light design for an affordable price, but the battery life could be better.

  • This model is very much about the Windows 8 experience. It looks good, the touchscreen works superbly, and the laptop is itself light and nimble. As an overall system, the Asus is a model you'll want to come back to....

  • Good manufacturing quality, Elegant design, Large touchpad, Touchscreen, Low system noise, Good speakers
  • Only one USB 3.0 port, Reflective display with low brightness, Difficult to upgrade
  • The first impression is positive The case looks elegant and is able to score points with its metallic surfaces. The manufacturing quality is also good at this price, and only a few areas leave some room for improvement in terms of the stability. On top of...

  • HDMI and VGA, Quick bootup from caching drive, Inexpensive price, Full ultrabook specs, Ten point Touch screen, Full sized Ethernet port, Solid screen for touch
  • Two USB 2,0 ports, Only one USB 3,0 port, Must use Fn key for vol/brightness/etc, Could use more battery life, Keyboard not backlit, Only 2,4GHz WiFi
  • The Asus VivoBook S400CA-UH51 is one of the least expensive ways to get a fully functional Windows 8 ultrabook. It's a touch-screen ultrabook that gets the pricing and feature set right...

  • Good performance and features, Nice style and build quality, Good battery life
  • Screen viewing angles and reflectivity, Only one USB 3.0 port, Touchpad driver could be better
  • The ASUS VivoBook S400C offers plenty of value for money, especially if you can find it for just over $800. It has a strong CPU, good storage, a decent touchscreen and keyboard and a good range of built-in ports. Battery life is also relatively long. It's...

  • Nicely built, Premium finish, Impressive performance, Good battery life, Touchscreen is an additional feature
  • Touchscreen adds bulk, Display loses out on contrast at high brightness, Lacks dedicated graphics
  • Like its bigger screen sibling, the more affordable S400CA walks the same path of very good build quality and fairly good performance. The touchscreen has added a bit of bulk to the entire package, which does take away from the actual ultrabook experience...

  • Good performance, Large responsive touchscreen, Ergonomic keyboard.
  • Poor display quality, Battery backup could have been better, Pricey
  • The ASUS S400CA is a very good performer in all regular computing tasks, thanks to its Core i7 CPU with sufficient RAM and hybrid drive system. However, its display quality is nothing to write home about with poor viewing angles. Nevertheless, it is as r...
