A handsome laptop (OK, tabletop) entertainment center. Hollywood-worthy screen. Brisk general-purpose performance. Cute remote control hides in ExpressCard slot.
Blu-ray and a TV tuner would be welcome additions. Graphics not up for hardcore gaming. Small cursor-control keys (unless you use the numeric keypads). Ample crapware.
For over a grand, we would have liked to have seen Blu-ray and/or ultra-fast gaming graphics, but the HP Pavilion dv7-2170us is a stylish slab thats surprisingly attractive anyway....

Plenty of RAM and a big hard drive; slick, attractive design; discrete graphics; quad-core CPU.
Screen resolution is low for the price; no Blu-ray drive.
HP makes excellent, slick multimedia machines, such as the Pavilion dv7-2185DX, but wed still trade its quad-core CPU for a full HD 1080p display and Blu-ray.

Une belle machine, complète et polyvalente. Bureautique, photo, vidéo et même jeux vidéo, tout est possible. Dommage que la dalle brillante soit si mauvaise. On aurait bien vu un lecteur de Blu-Ray également....
