Love the hinge. Okay
Sure
Maybe 99 per cent of the time I don't need to use it as a tablet
But it's just so effortless to transform that I do it anyways. It just screams “Why don't all laptops bend over backwards this way?”

The editors didn't like
It's not as pronounced here as on some other thin metal laptops
But the Spectre still has sharp metal edges right under your wrists. Why
Laptop manufacturers? Why do you subject us to this?
The speakers get decently loud
But also a bit harsh for musi
It's heavier than a MacBook Air
And like many similar hybrids
It leaves the keyboard exposed in tablet mode. Higher-end screen options could limit battery life
Slightly heavy
Making tablet mode a little encumbersome
Possible WiFi issues
Small rubber feet might lead to scratches
The touchscreen could be a bit smoother
Weedy speakers
A shade heavier than some
Entry-level model has 4GB RAM
Slight overheating
Speakers
Low gaming capabilities
Quite bulky when folded into tablet mode
The buttons on the trackpad aren't as responsive as we'd have liked

I'm not easily impressed, but HP certainly won me over with this one. The highlights of this machine are the incredible battery life, perfect screen and excellent user interface with the keyboard and trackpad. Let's also not forget the build quality. Thos...

Refreshing a product mere months after it releases is odd but, with a muscular Skylake CPU and Windows 10 straight out of the box, all signs point to this being a worthy update to the Spectre x360. Of course, anything less would be disastrous for HP. B...
Abstract: Performance is great – Switch on is a few seconds and wake up is near as instant as you need. Operation is really sharp, can have loads of applicaitons open and multiple tabs with no slow down. Renders video, animations etc in Adobe products and Serif pro...
Microsoft's involvement in the development of the Spectre hasn't resulted in anything spectacular but this is still a very smart and competent package. The impressive battery life, high quality keyboard, generous allocation of ports combined with a stylis...
Abstract: While it might sound a bit like a Bond villain, the HP Spectre x360 laptop promises to be as sharp as one of Q's gadgets, boasting a 360 degree rotating display, a slick aluminium chassis and a claimed battery life of around 12 hours. Can it live up to it...

Good value, solid performance, versatile hinge, classy design, strong battery life

At first glance the HP Spectre x360 may seem to rely on gimmicky extras a little too much. A 360-degree hinge, ultra-wide trackpad and touchscreen may put off some people who are just out for a long-lasting, slim laptop. But don't be put off. These...

The HP Spectre x360 13-4009na is a very sleek-looking and powerful laptop that converts into a tablet. It coped well when gaming and has plenty of power with a sharp clear display. However, when folded over into tablet mode, it's quite bulky to carry and...
The Spectre x360 is a stellar laptop. Not only does it have an outstanding body, but the screen is of the highest quality, it's versatile and it has plenty of battery life in it. This is pretty close to perfection, we'd love to see more of this from HP!...

Do you really need a thin Windows laptop with a touchscreen? A device that's mostly a laptop and only occasionally a tablet? If so, then yes! This is one of the best touchscreen laptops you can get. For a very reasonable £849 you can have a slim, attracti...
