  • Breakout cable a bit unwieldy, Separate app needed to select inputs
  • If you need a high quality instrument interface that works with both Macs and Windows computers, the Forte by Focusrite takes a little getting used to, but it offers great sound quality and a striking design....

  • Striking aluminum design. Clean audio quality during recording and playback. Works with PCs and Macs. Colorful OLED display. Doesn't need breakout cable attached unless you're recording.
  • Requires AC power for recording with phantom power, which inhibits portability. Sound quality, while good, isn't quite class-leading. Only one headphone output

  • I've not measured the performance of the Duet 2, so I can't compare it directly to the Forte on that level, but I have used it on a couple of occasions, and my impression is that the Forte is at least as good, and possibly marginally better. I also prefer...
