The styling of the Sony PS3 Slim is a 100 per cent improvement on the original PS3. The original console may have been powerful
But it was also big and bloated
And looked out of place when sat alongside the latest slimline HD TVs. The slim Playstation 3 features a much thinner chassis
And also gets a smarter matt black finish. Gaming was always an issue for the original PS3
And this is anothe
Less bulky form factor
Quieter than previous models
Lower price tag
Blu-ray player
Works as a media hub
Quiet
Price
The editors didn't like
No PS2 compatibility
A bit loud
Drive cover is a bit cheap and flimsy
Still not quite "cheap"
Flimsy exterior
Cheap drive mechanism
Tough price point
Slightly plasticky feel. Slightly worse CD audio playback. Better games on Xbox 360
Online play still no match for the Xbox Live
Cant play PS2 games
The still missing PS2 support
Cheap design
Price
No HDMI
The biggest drawback on the Sony PS3 Slim is the lack of support for older Sony PS2 games. It seems to be completely unnecessary
And fails to take into account the thousands of PS2 owners who plan on upgrading while still wanting to play some of their older games.

Smaller, lighter, and quieter, More energy efficient, Matte finish
Bluray playback a tad slower, No support for OtherOS, No PS2 legacy support
Looking past any potential aversion to matte, anyone picking up a PlayStation 3 Slim is getting a significantly better product than an early or even mid adopter. Sony really has come through with a smaller, lighter, quieter, and more energy-efficient piec...

No memory card slots. Lacks support for Netflix streaming. Dedicated Blu-ray remote is not included.
A long-overdue price drop, a hard-drive bump, and a compelling physical redesign make the Sony PlayStation 3 more desirable than ever....

Lacks backward support for PS2 games; no infrared port means non-Bluetooth universal remotes arent compatible; online gaming, media, and commerce options still arent as fully developed as Xbox Live, though theyre getting better.
With a smaller design, more energy-efficient operation, lower price tag, and built-in Blu-ray and multimedia capabilities, the PS3 Slim delivers a compelling package for an affordable price.
Abstract: The single largest roadblock that prevents most people from picking up a PlayStation 3 is the price. Sony's just taken that roadblock and shrunk it. You're now $100 more likely to buy a PlayStation 3. The Difference The PlayStation 3 Slim is actua...
Smaller and lighter, quieter and more energy-efficient
Only two USB ports instead of four, still no backwards compatibility for PS2 games
With its slicker body and reduced price point, the PlayStation 3 Slim is vastly more enticing than its costly predecessor. As Blu-ray players go, it’s pretty hard to beat -- and that’s before you even factor in the games. If Microsoft claims i...
