  • Abstract:  I know I’m late this week but there has to be a first for everything I guess. I do have to say I wish it was worth it, but it wasn’t. You see, I’m late this week, because I was waiting for Max Payne 3 to get patched up, so I could actually play it (more on that s...

  • Tightly designed shooter action that mixes oldschool craziness with modern sensibilities. Ultrastylish and bloody, with a compelling story to support the carnage. Allows for Mac/PC crossplay. Runs well even on lowerend Macs.
  • Suffers from annoying bugs, some of them severe. Stingy checkpoints can make dying inordinately frustrating

  • Story’s welldone when it’s at its best; fantastic animations make shooting feel amazing; neat multiplayer ideas.
  • Story often secondary to shooting; difficulty spikes, bad checkpoints, and constant cover often frustrate; multiplayer lacks real hooks.

  • If you have read my previous reviews, you are aware of my disdain for heavily narrative driven PC games and direct console ports. On first glance, I was ready to dismiss Max Payne 3 as just another pedestrian conversion but even from the first few minu...

  • Max's shootdodge maneuver is sometimes frustratingly ineffective
  • The PC version of Max Payne 3 is every bit as savage and satisfying as its console predecessors.
