  • While perhaps not quite living up to some of the more over-excited reviews, Fez is nonetheless a smart, strange delight which reveals its clear intelligence with craft and charm rather than pomposity. ...

  • Abstract:  Name: Genre: Platform: At first glance, Fez looks to be jumping onto the retro-revivalist bandwagon that has served the likes of Super Meat Boy and Sword and Sworcery EP so well. In some respects, that's an apt observation; the game is indeed indebted...

  • Wonderful 8-bit style, Ingenious puzzle-platform gameplay, Copious charm and hidden depths
  • Can be confusing, Minor issues when you revisit uncompleted areas
  • A lovable chunk of arthouse gaming that puts the game before the art. While Fez is hardly alone in taking inspiration from an 8-bit golden age, it's one of the few titles to match the titles it pays homage to, with a brilliant mix of vintage style, intell...

  • Beautifully detailed art and level design offer up a dense, textured world ripe for exploration, and each new level puts a unique and welcome spin on Fez's signature mechanics. Straightforward premise and structure are balanced by devious puzzles and a series of riddles that will keep all but the most dedicated code-breakers busy. There's a lot of fulfilling, engaging content here.
  • Because of the way Fez's levels fit together, backtracking for collectibles can be a pain. Players may spend some time spinning their wheels before really getting the hang of the perspective-shifting mechanics.
  • Fez is an imaginative and charming platformer that builds a seamless, compact, and cohesive design around a handful of genuinely novel ideas. It shouldn't be missed. 1 of 5 Fez View the full image Reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda series, chests h...

  • Abstract:  April 23rd, 2012 by Miyamoto (Logan Predy) Fez’s story starts out simply enough, you’re a 2D person who has occupied a 2D world but then a mysterious old man introduces you to this ethereal cube that grants you the power through a little fez hat to shi...

  • Abstract:  “Reality is perception, perception is subjective” muses a character in FEZ’s opening village. Right from the outset Polytron’s idiosyncratic puzzle-platformer debut makes its thematic underpinnings perfectly clear. FEZ is a game about shifting paradigm...
