Punishing difficulty makes victory that much sweeter
Eye-popping graphics and effects that put you inside the game. The gameplay is effective and different but constantly challenges your button smashing abilities. Controls are unique but range from simple to complex.
The editors didn't like
Storyline somewhat comical
Missing a key can lead to tedious backtracking
Horrible camera that gets stuck behind things
Lousy level graphics don't jibe with prettylooking gore
Punishing difficulty makes victory nighimpossible
The sound is not used nearly enough and is sometimes needed in important parts of the game. The difficulties are amazingly hard and starting on easy is recommended.

Abstract: Ninja Gaiden 2 marks what will apparently be Itagaki's swan song to the budding Tecmo action franchise, and all together, it's a pretty good note to go out on. Some things still remain true from the previous games, and while not all of them are positiv...
A beautiful, bloodthirsty Ninja action game, but one that's just too frustrating for the average gamer. If you can't stand the hardcore heat, stay out of the Ninja kitchen....
Abstract: Of course, the hardcore hacknslashers will laugh: theyve completed Ninja Gaiden on every difficulty, with every weapon and even use the karma score to compete against their hardcore mates. You know, just for fun like. Total Carnage. Love it!Best to ...
Abstract: Ninja Gaiden reinvented an action classic and set the bar for viciously demanding combat. Ryu Hayabusas lost none of his acrobatic vigor or combat prowess, but a few troubling problems keep this sequel from the soaring heights of a master.
