The editors liked

  • Graphics
  • Fight dynamics
  • Pace
  • Plenty of gore
  • Weapons
  • Gory
  • Slice and dice combat
  • Easyaccess submenu
  • Punishing difficulty makes victory that much sweeter
  • Eye-popping graphics and effects that put you inside the game. The gameplay is effective and different but constantly challenges your button smashing abilities. Controls are unique but range from simple to complex.

The editors didn't like

  • Storyline somewhat comical
  • Missing a key can lead to tedious backtracking
  • Horrible camera that gets stuck behind things
  • Lousy level graphics don't jibe with prettylooking gore
  • Punishing difficulty makes victory nighimpossible
  • The sound is not used nearly enough and is sometimes needed in important parts of the game. The difficulties are amazingly hard and starting on easy is recommended.

  • Slick, gruesome action is flashy and intense, Finishing moves are fun to perform and awesome to behold, Some great new weapons, Excellent, dramatic cutscenes
  • Inconsistent level of difficulty sometimes crosses the line into cheap territory, Infuriating camera, Environments dont look that good
  • This action-packed sequel isnt quite up to the standards of its precursors, but its still a brutal blast. ...

  • Incredibly fast and beautiful combat action, tons of weapons and combos, plenty of amazing cinematic moments
  • Persistent death by bad camera angle, inconsistent difficulty will aggravate even the hardcore, token puzzle-solving punctuates utter linearity The Final Word Its a slick game, but nowhere near as good as what fans have been hoping for.

  • Abstract:  Ninja Gaiden 2 is Tomonobu Itagaki’s Team Ninja swansong, as just after the initial launch he left Tecmo and filed a lawsuit against them citing unpaid bonuses for Dead or Alive 4. The first 3D Ninja Gaiden on Xbox was one of the hardest games in recen...

  • Fluid combat, absolutely awesome visuals, intuitive controls, insane boss fights and a horde of sharp weapons. Everything you could ask for in a ninja title!
  • Camera angles are terrible, some of the cut-scenes waffle on a bit, storyline is a bit light.

  • Abstract:  Ninja Gaiden (the recent series, not the 16-bit era side scroller) kicked off in fine form on the Xbox, back in 2004. Its combination of ninja action and ludicrous difficulty made it something of a fan favorite. So much so, in fact, that the same game ...

  • Boasts the deepest, fastest, most gruesome combat on the planet, Is simpler than previous NG games, Satiates the gore hound within, Falcons Talons are without doubt the best weapons ever devised
  • Can be painfully tough at times, Platforming sections suck, Camera can be problematic
  • Ninja Gaiden has the distinction of being known as one of the toughest games ever made. Its various iterations (Ninja Gaiden Black for the Xbox and Ninja Gaiden Sigma for the PlayStation 3) were tougher than the original game and brought even the most ...
