The editors liked

  • The band are fully realised in physical form with impressive motion capture
  • Plenty of rewards to unlock
  • Famililarly enjoyable gameplay with clearer vocal interface makes it a blast to play
  • Some great tracks
  • Obvious band involvement
  • Great for fans (obviously)
  • Every instrument put to good use
  • Dookie is entirely present
  • Collectibles are fun for superfans

The editors didn't like

  • Too few venues
  • Some albums are ridiculously scarce and desperately awaiting DLC
  • For some there might not be enough diversity in Green Day's music for this sort of game
  • Don't like Green Day? Get outta here
  • Some songs were already DLC in RB2
  • Lacks that extra layer found in Beatles RB

  • Best looking Rock Band to date, includes the hit albums Dookie and American Idiot in their entirety, all songs are exportable to the core Rock Band games.
  • Majority of music is from just three albums, lack of career narrative is disappointing.

  • Abstract:  "I wanna be in the minority," is a line from the Green Day track "Minority" that loses its meaning the more the band pack out stadiums and grow in mainstream popularity. And now, said popularity has lead to this: Green Day: Rock Band, the second in a s...

  • Abstract:  Last year, The Beatles: Rock Band demonstrated how a rhythm game dedicated to the songs of one band can create a uniquely immersive and enjoyable plastic rock experience. Green Day: Rock Band follows in those footsteps, and while it doesn't rise to the...

  • Diverse array of entertaining Green Day tracks, Enjoyable unlockables.
  • Lack of venue variety, Not a great value.
  • While it doesn't spring any surprises, Green Day: Rock Band packs high-energy rock into a solid package....

  • Abstract:  Let’s get this out of the way right off the bat: I don’t love Green Day. I don’t dislike Green Day, either. In fact, Green Day is one of the first bands I ever listened to that didn’t come from my parents’ music library. I had the Dookie cassette tape ...

  • Abstract:  Just when you thought it was safe to put those plastic guitars and drum kits back in the closet here comes another Rock Band game – no, not a full game. That will come later when Rock Band 3 ships, but for now we get Green Day: Rock Band, another band-...

  • Abstract:  I have nothing against Green Day. In fact, I have spent good money buying a few of their previous albums (Dookie, Kerplunk, etc.). I certainly wouldn't call myself a fanatic, but I wouldn't turn the station if I heard Green Day on the radio. However...

  • I'm going to reiterate what I said at the beginning. If you like Green Day and Rock Band, go get this. If you're getting bored of playing fake instruments or you're just not a fan of the group, then don't expect to be won over. It's not as polished or ...

  • Dookie and American Idiot, Cool unlockables,
  • Most songs are boring to play, $10 to import the songs!?!?, Nothing to really hold your attention for long
