• Excellent comfort, even after many hours, High sound quality, Great clarity, Sturdy cable, Good price/performance, User serviceable
 • Build quality could be better, cracks appear after a while, Lacks bass, Default stereo jack is 6.3mm, DV Hardware awards the Sennheiser HD 555 with a 8.5/10 and our Seal of Approval award.
 • The Sennheiser HD 555 is a real classic that's been on the market for many years. At present it may no longer be the cream of the crop in its price class, but for the right price this is a very good entry-level "audiophile" headset that you'll be enjoying...

 • The Sennheiser HD 555 headphones are clearly meant for a home theater environment. While they fit this role well, they are unfortunately limited to it. These headphones arent a good choice if youre looking for something you can also commute with. F...

 • Abstract: Like the Grado family, the HD555s look and feel almost identical to their more expensive relative. The similarities end there however, with disappointing delivery and a less focused presentation. Compared to the 595s the soundstage is smaller with deficiencies in stereo imaging..

 • Abstract: Sennheiser makes some amazing higher-end headphones, but most of them require a dedicated headphone amp to really show their stuff. The HD 555 are one of the few that sound great directly out of an iPod. Like most home models from Sennheiser, they encl...

 • Abstract: Spec: Stereo, 9.2 oz, Headphones, Phone stereo 6.25 mm, None
Good: Sleek styling; very comfortable; rich tonal balance; well suited for home theater.
Bad: Open-backed design may not be ideal for private listening; so-so music performance.
Bottomline: The HD555s speakerlike sound is the hot ticket for DVD thrill seekers.
• Abstract: We asked a few companies to send us their headphones so that we could put them to the test. Each of the four sets below is of a different design. This gave us the opportunity to examine the benefits and downfalls of each design. The people at Marantz w...

 • Light and comfortable, massive sound, replaceable parts improves longevity.
 • Can be heard by others even at low volume, 3.5 mm jack adapter is comically huge, might not be $50 superior to the $200 HD515s.
 • Comfortable, lightweight, good long cable and various technical enhancements to improve sound quality all combine to make the HD555s an excellent choice. The only possible problem with this headphones is the $200 HD515s which arent massively inferior....

 • Abstract: Ingen tvekan om saken. Bra komfort och välbalanserat ljud gör Sennheiser HD555 till rena rama fyndet. Sennheiser HD555 klarar av ett par trick som bara ett par andra testdeltagare gör, den får musiken att låta mer tredimensionell. Inte bara för at...
