  • The Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 speaker system is one of the most compact and stylish systems we've seen. It sounds much better than you'd expect given its size, and it's very affordable
  • The Boston's cramped speaker-wire connectors are difficult to use. And if you don't need extremely small speakers, you can find better-sounding (and still stylish) speakers for the same price
  • The Boston SoundWare XS 5.1 is an exceptionally compact system and sounds great for its size--although larger systems sound even better.

  • At higher volumes can be fatiguing, Cubes demand high crossover point
  • In general I was happy with the performance of the Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 speaker system. At $500 for a 5.1 system, you can't go in expecting much. What I really want out of speakers at this price point and with this form factor is "not bad...

  • Big sound from small speakers, Omnidirectional mounting means sweet sound from any angle, Sturdy construction delivers stable sound, No stands necessary
  • Beefy subwoofer is a big visual contrast to satellites, Subwoofer has no speaker level inputs; LFE/line input only
  • In this economy, its hard to justify new speakers. However, the SoundWare XS 5.1 system packs a roomful of fun into one small $500 package. There are plenty of other systems out there that are slightly cheaper, but Boston Acoustics quality is worth ...
