Great design, Easy AirPlay set-up, Tons of detail that competitors lack
Sound is on the small side, Treble can be a little bright
Put the A5 in a real home environment and it will shine. There are few AirPlay docks at this price that can challenge it in design and performance – B&W has another superstar on its hands. See all our dock system Best Buys Follow whathifi.com on Twitt...
B&W speakers are never cheap, but the A5 seems a little overpriced. Sound quality is good but not excellent, and it's strictly for Apple devices since there's no Bluetooth. For £70 less, the Minx Air 100 is much more versatile, yet sounds just as good.Tag...

The Bowers & Wilkins A5 delivers excellent wireless audio via AirPlay at moderate levels, but struggles at top volumes on some deep bass material....

Nicely crisp audio over AirPlay, Attractive aesthetics, Easy to set up, Robust bass at mid, to, higher volumes
Distorts on bassy tracks at top volume, Rather pricey
If £400 seems a little pricey for a system that distorts, even if only on certain tracks and at high volumes – it is. If you can afford an AirPlay system in this range but don't want to deal with distortion, the Klipsch Gallery G-17 Air offers distortion...
Hands down the easiest AirPlay speaker I've set up. A 3.5mm input and an Ethernet jack on the rear panel handle direct wired connections should you decide to forgo AirPlay
Bass can be overbearing when you crank the volume. Flimsy plastic remote is in direct opposition to premium metal and black cloth design of the speaker

Clean, clear and refined sound quality, Huge, jaw-dropping bass response when boundary-loaded, Enjoyable sound with all kinds of music, Plays loudly with very little distortion, Well-finished, inert cabinet design
Midrange and treble response a bit uneven, Sound quality somewhat sensitive to placement, Can't handle multiple sources or rooms
At just a whisker under $500, the Bowers and Wilkins A5 may be one of the pricier AirPlay music systems on the market today, but it's also one of the best. Its refined tonal character puts it a few steps above much of the lower-priced competition, and i...

Robust, crisp audio performance over AirPlay. Substantial bass response at moderate-to-loud volumes. Easy set up process using free app. Attractive, sleek design.
Distorts on deep bass tracks at top volumes. Egg-shaped remote is awkward to operate. A tad overpriced

Abstract: I had the good fortune of being lent an A5 for a couple of days. Honestly, I did not want to give it back! That's how impressed I was with the A5.I've been looking for good iPhone and iPad speakers for my room. I wanted something that was easy to use, wir...
