The editors didn't like

  • Some connection issues
  • You'll need to use analogue 7.1 outputs into a legacy HDMI v1.3 receiver
  • 3D pictures lack the crispness and solidity of the best
  • A touch of motion smear
  • Some offer greater sonic attack
  • Journeyman audio performance
  • Single HDMI
  • Lack of 3D Blu-ray titles
  • Can be beaten for sound and 2D by players costing a fair bit less
  • Colours aren't accurate!
  • Oldfashioned remote without backlighting
  • Poor upscaling of SD sources
  • No room for adjusting settings like colours or noise reduction
  • The player can exhibit the odd bit of crosstalk during 3D playback
  • Causing objects to ghost – but this is more an issue with the 3D TV it’s hooked up to
  • And we can’t really count it as a weakness for the BD-C6900.
  • Networking process isn't always straightforward
