  • Abstract:  The Sony Wireless Digital Music Streamer model VGF-WA1/W is a nice looking unit that we had big expectations for. Sorry to say this is one of the least consumer friendly devices we have ever encountered. Our funkyfresh reviewer works at a major Silico...

  • Inexpensive, good sound, easy to use, portable
  • Complicated setup, limited Internet radio options, hard-to-read display
  • A compact, low-priced way to stream music wirelessly from a PC to other rooms without having to connect with an existing receiver

  • Great sound, portable, rechargeable battery
  • Horrific setup process, no Macintosh support, no control from computer
  • Ultimately, while we liked the idea of Sony’s wireless audio streamer, we felt like it made us work really hard to earn the right to play music on it, something we imagined ourselves, as a consumer, having already earned by plopping down Sony&rsquo...

  • Reliable wireless audio streaming; stylish design; built-in lithium battery with 4 hours of battery life; solid connectivity, including a digital-audio output and an auxiliary minijack input for external sources.
  • Limited (128MB) internal memory; no method of adding additional memory; AAC downloads are very slow; no Mac support; no AM/FM tuner; limited file format support; cant handle subscription-based digital music services.
  • The Sony VAIO VGF-WA1 is a stylish tabletop radio that can stream digital music from your PC, but a few key feature upgrades would have made us like it even more.

  • Streams music from PC. Comes with wireless adapter. Sounds good. Nice design. Internet radio access. Internal flash memory storage.
  • Slow file transfer to internal memory. Remote low on options. Web radio doesnt give artist info.
  • The Sony VAIO VGF-WA1 Digital Music Streamer gets your music off your PC into your kitchen, backyard, or even the beach—wirelessly. Its limited remote and slow transfer speeds tarnish what would otherwise have been an amazing product....

  • Web radio anywhere in your house, Impressive wireless performance, Stereo, headphone and optical outputs, Looks good
  • Most free Live365 Web radio stations have gone AWOL, MP3 streaming requires your PC to be on, Interface not so friendly, Pricey
  • While Web radio is kind of neat, this Vaio is pricey and if you plan to only play MP3s, wed suggest just getting a set of speakers for your MP3 player. ...
