Low-resolution display
Disappointing camera and awful video capture resolution
Overall, we liked the Flipout, especially when you consider the cost: In the UK it seems to be exclusive to Orange and is available for free on their “Dolphin20″ plan which gives you unlimited texts and 200 free minutes per month. If you don't want to be t...
Superb build quality, Great keyboard, Easy to use interface
Small, low res screen, Slowish processor, Poor camera, Intriguing but somewhat pointless form factor
Another Motorola tweak is the addition of the Phone Portal, which once setup with the included software lets you sync your phone's content over Wi-Fi, which is a surprisingly liberating and useful ability. As well as Motorola's tweaks the review sample we...
Quirky design, Connected music player, Motoblur is a clever system, Small overall size when closed, Accessible microSD card slot
Motoblur is cramped in the small screen, Camera is poor, Android 2.1 unlikley to be upgraded, Physical keyboard is only so-so, Web browsing is painful
Motorola has followed up an improving range of Android devices with the lacklustre Motorola Flipout. While the Flipout carries many of the same software facets as the Defy – Motoblur, DLNA, connected media player, they're cramped into a small screen that...
The price may be attractive, the design quirky and the physical keyboard good, but overall we aren't convinced that the Motorola Flipout is a success. Android needs a large screen, and Motorola's own Motoblur also benefits from lots of screen space. Sa...

The Motorola FlipOut is far from being my cup of tea. It does do everything you would expect but it just doesn't feel right. Closed it feels very strange due to its shape. Its saving grace is its keyboard. If you are a big texter then I think the Flip...
Android 2.1 OS, highly usable keyboard, fast 720MHz processor and ample operating memory, innovative battery and data saving options
Low-resolution display, disappointing camera and awful video capture resolution, plus a controversial design
With other similarly priced smartphones (namely £150 or less) having similar resolution screens, the Flipout isn't any worse than its peers. Besides the camera, you're still getting a lot of bang for your buck – but the design won't suit all tastes....
Unique compact design; Android 2.1 and MotoBlur UI; good messaging input; multiple syncing options; good battery life
Low-res screen; no camera flash; not great for browsing, Rating:
The Motorola Flipout just about outshines the Sony Xperia x10 Mini Pro when it comes to usability. However, both phones are pricey considering the quality of the screen and users would be well advised to check out the HTC Wildfire, which is cheaper an...
