Inexpensive, good speaker, music player, good battery life
Disappointing LCDs, awkward keypad design
With its large speaker on the face of the phone, the Samsung T539 Beat puts its music capabilities front-and-center. At first look, the device has the appearance of an iPod. This is due to the circular ring, colored iridescent green, at the bottom hal...
Compact, solid flip phone with front-mounted music controls/speaker, stereo Bluetooth support and straightforward music player; Includes 1GB memory card; Good IM support; Inexpensive.
Signal strength issues; Low-res display and less-than-pretty UI; Wired headphones require use of proprietary adapter.
Beat is a simple flip with a pretty good music player and low price tag. The phone’s design didn’t do much for me, and the display is low-res, but for a basic phone with music player, Beat’s not bad. Just make sure you can get good rec...
No frills, Occasionally confusing controls, Less memory than its competitors
The Samsung Beat is a solid device, but the more sophisticated music phones out there make it seem clunky. Still, the phone’s price makes it a bargain – and for $50 after rebates, you’d be hard pressed to find a better music device...
Reception strength, Uncomfortable keypad, No email
The Beat comes out as a really nifty little handset. There’s plenty of talk-time available and if you can get and keep signal, the sound quality, from both calls and the media player, surely will not disappoint you. If you can get past the low quality ...
Over-the-air contact synching and media uploading to Web, Handy external playback controls, Lots of e-mail options, including BlackBerry Connect, Good accessory bundle, Music sounds good through headphones
Doesn’t offer over-the-air music downloads, External speaker is lousy for music, Subpar call reception, Weak camera
The Samsung Beat is a sleek clamshell with an onboard music player, quad-band GSM/EDGE support, and a 1.3-megapixel camera for a reasonable $99. A music-friendly accessory bundle and external playback controls make the Beat a capable music phone. It al...
Abstract: T-Mobiles latest entry in the music phone phone category packs a big punch despite its small size. The Beat has a full-featured music player that can keep pumping the tunes out while you do anything except take a picture (or make a call, of course). Y...

Abstract: What can be said about the Samsung Beat that I didn’t already cover? It’s a tiny music-centric phone (aren’t all phones music-centric these days unless it’s a smart phone?) and as far as those go these days it’s not bad. Heck...

Abstract: You can tell a lot from a name. Call a car a “Stag” and it has far butcher connotations than if you named it “Primrose”; christen your new laptop “Brick” and don’t be surprised that urban warriors pick the rival &...
Good music experience, Bluetooth stereo support, over the air contacts synch
Subpar signal reception, outdated looking UI, wonky message editor
Overall I have enjoyed my time with the Beat. It has a nice feature set in a compact and light body. I certainly would have hoped for a better performance from the internal antenna, but that is the only major problem with the device. For those that liv...

The Samsung SGH-T539 Beat offers decent call quality and great battery life. It also comes with a solid feature set including Bluetooth, voice dialing, and an external memory slot.
The Samsung SGH-T539 Beats music player and overall design was uninspiring. Also, its flat keys hampered usability.
The Samsung SGH-T539 Beat does its primary job well, but its not the most exciting music phone in T-Mobiles stable.
