There’s only so much that can be done with touchscreen phone design these days
But it looks like Sony has nailed it. The Sony Xperia S is a striking phone made distinctive by its clean angular lines and illuminating bar running below the display
Which also houses the antenna. It’s a real looker. The display too is very good
Delivering some neat viewing angles
Lots of detail and some wonderfu

Honestly speaking
There is not a lot wrong with the Xperia S so I've had to really think hard to find some defects
Poor battery life
Large form factor awkward for typing
The Xperia S has quirky capacitive buttons
Slow 3G data
An uninspiring screen
And a pokey processor. Its $559.99 price is also steep
Slight rattle in the build
Vital daily recharges
No Ice Cream Sandwich out the box
No microSD card slot
Battery not accessible
No Mac support for file transfer
Doesn't seem to make huge steps forward
The absence of memory expansion is a letdown
And we don’t like the inaccessible battery either.
Touchsensitive buttons not very practical
Limited angles of view
Nonexpandable memory (32 GB)
Photo quality behind the competition
You can find better with 8 Mpx
Camera sensor poorly located
Low battery life
Unfortunately with its good design
There are flaws. The Sony Xperia S severely lacks in grip. Its plastic body can easily slip out of the hands in a hurry
However the hand eventually gets used to the awkward grip. And it has to be said that the Sony Xperia S is hardly compact. Some buttons even require a little stretching to operate in one-handed use. Camera quality too
For what it offers coul
No Ice Cream Sandwich on board yet

Some may dislike the lack of Ice Cream Sandwich

Mediocre design
PlayStation bits disappoint

Powerful and fast, Good stills and full-HD video, Decent media/app hubs
Mediocre design, PlayStation bits disappoint, No Ice Cream Sandwich
Sony believes this new era can resurrect its ailing smartphone brand and the Xperia S appears to be a good start. With Sony going it alone in the smartphone world we'd expect more distinct designs from the company in the near future. However, it's cle
I got this far without even really mentioning the water resistance of the Xperia Z, but that should be okay – we know what to expect with it and while it is a great feature to have for those accidental spills and rainy days, it is really just one in a l...

Incredible 1080p screen, Strong design, HDR video, Top notch hardware
Heat build up is noticable, More 'phablet' than phone, Heavy use will kill battery
Will its distinctive design, incredible power, great screen and great camera, it's a winning combination, the small niggle is that the size will put potential consumers off and that's a shame because it's hard to fault the Android flagship otherwise.Fans...
