Weight
This probably sounds obvious
But the iPad mini really is mini. So much so that you can hold it with one hand. This is true of its seven inch rivals as well as the iPad mini
But it’s still worth bearing in mind
A 7.9-inch iPad is much smaller compared to a 9.7-inch iPad than it sounds in paper. Close to half the size
In fact.This
Combined with Apple’s epic design
Makes it a truly lustworthy
Like the iPad
But easier to handle
Beautifully built
Battery life is impressive
Smaller
Lighter & more portable
Beautifully designed and built
Huge selection of apps
Seamless integration with Apple devices
Great size
Reasonably powerful
Great for gaming and reading

Great selection of apps
Lightweight and suitable for reading onehanded
The editors didn't like
Does not have Retina Display
Price is substantially more than rival product
A5 processor isn't cutting-edge
IPad mini 2 is more expensive
And a touch heavier
Than the iPad mini 1
Sub-par screen sharpness Mediocre camera 4
3 aspect ration not suited to movies Too wide
Over £100 more expensive than rivals
Lowresolution display
A5 processor isn't particularly quick
Screen def isn't exactly highend
Onscreen readability isn't on par with the Nexus 7 or the Kindle Fire HD
Proprietary connector
Internal memory can't be expanded
Screen isn't as good as other Apple devices
A5 processor doesn't offer top end performance
Expensive
Rival displays are sharper
No way to expand storage.
Smaller touch targets
Higher price than competition
Low
Res screen
Screen resolution
4G won't work on Vodafone or O2
Old processor
Pricey
No expandable memory
Cable and cover accessories all add up
Lower res screen than rivals
Price
No headphones included
We could grumble at the lack of Retina Display
The iPad mini’s display packs in the same 1024x768 pixels as the original 2010 iPad
And purists will spot the extra grain and fuzz around the edge of text. But HD movies still look great
And the portability more than makes up for those rough edges and visible pixels. Your technophobic family certainly won’t spot them
They’ll be too busy playing A
No Retina Display means a lack of detail
Expensive compared to the Nexus 7
Ageing processor
Relatively low resolution screen
Not as good value as competing tablets
Lower screen resolution and CPU horsepower than we would expect

All things considered, the iPad Mini is our favourite iOS device. It's size and weight means that you get the benefits of a screen much larger than an iPhone, and a device which is much more comfortable to use than a full-sized iPad. It gives you full acc...
Abstract: Dimension Vs. Performance Vs. Budget-the contest is on at the California-based company that topped the Fortune's Top 50 World's Most Admired Companies List 2012, for 6 years in a row.Slashing the thickness, weight and price of iPad by 23%, 53% and 27% resp...
Give the Nexus 7, the Kindle Fire HD and iPad mini to most consumers to play with, and most people would immediately veer towards the iPad for its wider screen and slimmer profile. Tell them it's $120 more expensive than the 16GB Nexus 7, and they may w...
Abstract: The arrival of the 7.9-inch iPad Mini isn't perhaps a complete reverse course for Apple – the tech juggernaut has often been pragmatic in the face of customer demand (just take a look at the diverse array of iPods as an example) and to be fair, the Mini's...
The iPad mini is exactly what it says on the box — it's a smaller, lighter but still fully functional and powerful version of Apple's iconic iPad tablet, with obvious design inspiration taken from the iPhone 5. As with most Apple products, the iPad mini ...

If you are in desperate need of a small tablet, and already have thousands of dollars sunk into iOS, and don't watch much video, and have never used a retina display, and have Scrooge McDuckian levels of disposable income, then yes. You should buy the iPa...
Non-retina display, Some smaller UI elements, Expensive
If Apple's iPad mini was equipped with a retina display, we wouldn't hesitate deeming it the best iPad ever. The iPad mini is an exceptionally constructed tablet with excellent battery life and an unsurpassed app ecosystem that the competition simply can'...
Most of the full-size-iPad experience in a smaller, lighter package; all existing iPad apps run natively; wireless capabilities and cameras on par with fourth-generation iPad; very good performance; incredibly solid construction and beautiful design
No Retina display; some apps and websites feel a little cramped on the smaller screen; landscape keyboard is too small for easy touch-typing, Wi-Fi: $369 (16GB); $479 (32GB); $589 (64GB). Wi-Fi + Cellular: $509 (16GB); $619 (32GB); $729 (64GB)
