The editors liked

  • The jetpacks
  • But we can’t help but feel Guerrilla Games missed a trick here by not letting players literally take to the skies in the kind of epic battles we imagined we’d be having with them.Killzone 3’s campaign
  • Despite feeling routine on occasion is an enjoyable one. It doesn’t offer much in the way of the revolutionary new features and mechanics that fans are now crying out for in their FP
  • Visuals are stunning
  • Move control actually works if you opt for it
  • Easily the best FPS on the PS3
  • Breathlessly excited
  • Fastpaced and gorgeous to look at
  • Multiplayer is more immediately enjoyable than KZ2's
  • More varied action makes campaign more fun
  • 3D and Move are cool additions
  • If you've got them
  • Looks and sounds incredible
  • Seriously atmospheric and fun singleplayer
  • Good multiplayer suite
  • Offering some new ideas and great XP based levelling
  • Lives up to the legacy well
  • Yet adds new ideas

The editors didn't like

  • As much action as there is
  • It can feel like a shooting gallery
  • No proper co-op mode
  • Steep learning curve for newcomers to the genre.
  • Coop is strictly splitscreen
  • Allies can revive you
  • But often don't
  • Main characters are still kind of dull
  • Single player is woefully short
  • Only 8 MP maps at launch (although massive ones)

  • Abstract:  Cursed with having to live up to the high expectations of its incredible pre-PS3 teaser trailer, the last installment of Sony's much-hyped fps may not quite have reached the levels of shooter stalwarts Halo or Call of Duty, but it wasn't far off. While ...

  • And now, it's crunch time. There's no hiding the fact that Killzone 3 is a highly-polished, exhilarating blockbuster, but it falls beyond the 9/10 threshold due to the fact that we've essentially played this game several times already. As a single play...

  • Killzone 3 is a middle of the road game. It offers a a fun 6 to 8 hours of play in a world that we feel like we have seen one too many times. There are some definite fun areas of the game but overall it just tows the line. Killzone 3 is worth buying if yo...

  • Abstract:  Tweet Killzone 2 saw the forces of the ISA go after the evil Helghast on their own planet of Helghan after repelling an invasion of earth in the first game. While Killzone 2 saw a small, elite unit of ISA lead by Corporal Tomas “Sev” Sevchenko and Ser...

  • Abstract:  I'm not a massive fan of JLS, but I can appreciate why people might like them. All the melodies are in the right place. A lot of money has clearly been spent rounding up the most successful songwriters and video directors. They do a lovely harmony. Hel...
