The touch controls simply aren't responsive enough for more complicated actions such as skipping through multiple tracks. I used them for quickly pausing or resuming my music
But for the most part I'd rely on my music player for anything more demanding
It's pricier than the Bose
While the sound quality is excellent for Bluetooth
It's lacking that little bit of extra sparkle and definition (Sennheiser's own Momentum II Wireless sounds better)

Abstract: Time for a showdown. Sennheiser PXC 550-II vs PXC 550. In terms of wireless sound quality, Sennheiser is running the game. Other companies may have them beat for comfort or noise cancellation, but the MOMENTUM 3 and MOMENTUM in-ears are still the best-sou...

So, the PXC 550 is on or above par with the similarly priced Bose and Sony models. But, I'd certainly go Sennheiser for the features, comfort and sound quality. However, at a $150 premium, the new Master & Dynamic MW65s offer equally good ANC, but are mad...

The PXC 550 has every feature you could possibly want in a headphone designed for mobile use and they're implemented extremely well, These headphones deliver excellent sound quality that approaches audiophile standards, Feature accessibility is intuitive,
The buttons can be hard to find, as they are nearly flush with the casing. Plus, the minimal labeling is black on black, making it hard to know what each button does, The Quick Guide that comes in the box is poorly written and hard to understand; however,
If I liked the Bose headphones better, I promise you I would say so. They were close--I would rank the QuietComfort 35 II headphones as a strong second-place contender. Overall, though, I found that the PXC 550's added features and the wonderful execution...
